Okay, so I came across this article in Yahoo today. It's all about the surprising energy sappers in our homes that use energy even when they are turned off.

Since I have a friend who works for So. Cal Edison who has been telling me for quite a long time that a 7% increase is in the works, I thought NOW would be the time to share a few things. For instance, did you know that microwaves are a huge energy sucker? That little clock that keeps running even when you aren't using the oven is draining a bit of energy. Electronics with fans and clocks and backlighting are a constant drain on your home's electricity, but more importantly your family's budget!

But the bigger culprits are the cell phone charges that we leave plugged in. They use quite a bit of electricity - UNPLUG THAT THING! IPOD docks, digital picture frames, game consoles, and ereader chargers are just a small example of things that need to be unplugged when not in use.
So, with the huge electricity fee increase coming to a neighbohood near you soon, you should think about checking out some of these things in your own home. Oh, and tell your clients! They will be grateful to you for a MUCH smaller electricity bill!
