HOME WARRANTIES - SHOULD WE PROVIDE THEM AS A GIFT?
Okay, so I was just reading a blog by my friend Russell Ray entitled "I'd Rather Live out my Life at the Beach then a Prison Cell". It really got me to thinking about Home Warranties.
In the past, I have provided the home warranties to my clients as their "gift". Now, however, after reading Russell's blog, it makes me wonder, "Should I be providing the Home Warranty as a gift?"

It's thought-provoking, because on one hand, it is a way OUT of lawsuits, but on the other hand, can shoddy service by the home warranty company turn into a lawsuit for me? I mean, really, with everyone hurting for money, isn't everyone thinking of ways to sue everyone else? Especially Realtors from what I can tell because they think we have deep pockets... If they only knew!
So, if I provide the home warranty from the company I choose, doesn't that make me just as responsible as if I had referred a lawyer or tax attorney? I actually use a home warranty company that brings my E&O deductible way down and I feel they are reliable and have good customer service. I feel like it is the best of both worlds, but what if it's not the same for my buyer or seller?
So I pose the question to all of you: "SHOULD WE GIVE THE HOME WARRANTY AS A GIFT TO THE BUYER/SELLER?"
