LET IT SHINE, LET IT SHINE, LET IT SHINE!

Okay, so I was watching a viedo on a friend's blog about something totally unrelated to Real Estate. It made me stop and think, "How do I as a Realtor make myself shine and stand apart for my clients?" Apart from the fact that I have vast amounts of energy and I know my stuff, what do I do to go above and beyond to help my clients get the best possible deal with the least amount of trouble?
I try to challenge myself every day to "Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody expects of you. Never excuse yourself." But aren't we all good at those excuses? A favorite song of mine says, "I am the king of excuses, I have one for every selfish thing I do". (I Want to be in the Light by DC Talk).
Recently I realized it was simply due to fear. What if I blog and nobody reads me? What if I say the wrong thing and offend someone? What if my client doesn't like my dress today? What if I'm good at this, then what will I have to work for? Then I read a quote by Mary McCarthy, "We all live in suspense from day to day, from hour to hour. In other words, YOU are the hero of your own story!"
And yet another quote from Dr. Nirvikar Dahiya, "Fear of the unknown is the worst of all fears; it kills the creative powers that come from curiosity".
But the best one, the one that made me start to move forward and come out of my shell is from the Bible. Psalm 139:16 basically says that every day of my life was written before I even came into being. There are no surprises for God!
So now I am freed up to be the best I can be, to be a fantastic Realtor that goes above and beyond? Who cares more about the client and their needs and goals rather than the almighty commission check. And I can LET IT SHINE!
