Okay, so the other day on the news, I saw on the news a study on how portable pools can be just as dangerous as in-ground pools as far as pool safety is concerned.
So since we are starting to get that famous California summer weather, and in honor of the upcoming holiday, here are some links to pool safety tips.
This link is to the Red Cross safety tips for portable pools. Funny how this came out like a mere day after the news story. I'm glad they feel a need to do these tips every summer. I wonder how many people's lives are saved because someone took the time to read and know what was there.
Another link by the Red Cross has to do with pool or hot tub safety tips. This particular page also has a place to sign up for one of their famous classes, HOME POOL ESSENTIALS. This class happens to be an online class so you can take it at your speed and time-frame.
Here is where you can download safety sheets from pool safety, to choosing a safe place to swim, to choosing a good life jacket. I love the Red Cross website because you can search for safety tips and classes of all different topics. It's really a good resource.
So, before you get ready to go in the water, whether it be a lake, river ocean, pool or hot tub, read up and go have a safe and fun summer!
